The Republicans
are not backing down on their brain-dead budget plans, which would include completely dismantling the social safety nets of Medicare and Social Security that millions of Americans depend on to survive. And to make things worse, they also want to raise taxes on the middle class in order to give even more tax breaks to millionaires. And in spite of the fact that economists have warned us for years that doing any one of these things would be kill the small economic gains we’ve made, President Obama seems to be willing to consider caving in once again to the GOP on this issue.
