Recently, another story emerged where a Tea Party-type was gunned down after a stand off with police officers in Florida. The man claimed to be a “sovereign citizen,” a group that is growing in numbers. Sovereign citizens believe that they can personally secede from the United States, and that they are no longer subject to the US Constitution or other laws.
