The violent outrage from indignant Republicans is to be expected. But when it comes from their talking heads over at Fox news, it’s time for someone to change seats. Apparently Andreas Tantros cannot hold her tongue and keep from threatening to incite the already hate-filled fringe.
Raw Story has reported that the Fox News host had a meltdown during her show Thursday, urging listeners to induce physical harm against those who voted for President Obama.
“Fox said, we’re targets, clearly Media Matters and others have put us on a target list. And they said, ‘Oh, Fox is just crazy! They’re just paranoid!’ Really? Are we? This is what is happening to our press! This is Obama’s America! It’s like the Soviet Union. He said he would change the country. He said it. And a lot of people voted for him. And if you see any of those people today, do me a favor, punch them in the face,” said Tantaros on the Fox News show, The Five.
She then tried to downplay the seriousness of her previous statement after a listener called into the show with a response to her outburst .
“To be clear, I didn’t say punch Obama in the face,” Tantaros told the caller. “You’re going to get me arrested with this type of government. If someone voted for him, if anyone that you know who voted for President Obama, smack ‘em down,” she replied to the listener.
Fox News has been known to speak for the GOP, and Tantaros’ freak-out is only more of the same bullying for which the GOP is already known.
