Why does the Right hate good Samaritans so much? Not even a week ago, Donald Trump was talking about how stupid it was for the United States to take care of the Americans that had contracted Ebola in the current outbreak in Africa. Now Ann Coulter is stepping up to the plate to  defend her title as the most vitriolic and inane blabbermouth in the country.

On her blog, Coulter says, “I wonder how the Ebola doctor feels now that his humanitarian trip has cost a Christian charity much more than any services he rendered. What was the point?”

Helping people. The point was helping people who are suffering from a terrible disease. She then goes on to pile all of the woes of the world onto the ill physician and question why no one will do work in the United States.

“Can’t anyone serve Christ in America anymore?”

Yes. They sure can. This doctor, however, wasn’t responsible for repairing all of the damage that Coulter sees in America. He chose to help in what way he felt was best. Coulter, through some idiotic conservative effort to politicize things, berates the doctor for his efforts to help the least among us.

“If Dr. Brantly had practiced at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and turned one single Hollywood power-broker to Christ, he would have done more good for the entire world than anything he could accomplish in a century spent in Liberia.”

Thank God that Ann Coulter isn’t the final arbiter of anything in this world.
