CNN’s Jack Tapper was on the scene in Ferguson, MO. The town is currently beset by tragedy as police continue to oppress the freedom of the citizens to assemble and to speak following the killing of the unarmed Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson.
What Tapper observed was, in his opinion, uncalled for. The people of Ferguson were peacefully assembled and there was no threat of violence. Yet, the police were out in full armor with military grade weaponry and vehicles.
Like Tapper asks, if you really want to know why things are going the way they are in Ferguson, one reason is certainly the way the police are responding and attempting to marginalize the First Amendment rights of the citizens of Ferguson.
