Fear mongering. Division. Empiricism. Just a few tools in the belt of Fox News. Sean Hannity decided to seek counsel on the troubling rise of ISIS and the recent barbarous murders of James Foley and Steven Sotloff from none other than one of the stars of Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson.
Phil, as is to be expected, turned to scripture in an attempt to make sense of who ISIS is and what can be done about the group.
“Either convert them or kill them,” Robertson said.
ISIS is an extreme and dangerous group. Real people are suffering at the hands of its minions. Having uninformed celebrities on national television to perpetuate fears does little to resolve conflict or protect Americans abroad.
If Fox News really cared about protecting Americans or telling the story straight, they could do a lot better than having a Duck Daddy on as their chief Islamophobe correspondent.
