It’s obvious at this point that the NFL has failed to meet its responsibility in the investigation of Ray Rice’s assault on his now-wife Janay Palmer. Recent video has been released by TMZ that explicitly shows the moments when Ray Rice struck Janay, knocking her unconscious and has now banned Rice from the NFL indefinitely.
The NFL has expressed that it was not afforded an opportunity to review the footage that has now resulted in Rice’s almost-certainly permanent banning from the NFL. However, the Associated Press contradicts that claim stating that the NFL had in fact been provided a copy of the video back in April.
But did the NFL even need to witness the actual moment when Ray Rice’s fist pummelled Janay to the ground? No. It did not. Leave it to Jon Stewart to make that blindingly clear to us all.
