Authorities in Forsyth County, Georgia have recently released surveillance footage of an armed man, who has been identified as a sovereign citizen, launching a “full-frontal” assault on a courthouse.
On the morning of June 6, Dennis Roland Marx drove his vehicle to the Forsyth County Courthouse and opened fire, reported The Raw Story. At that time, Deputy Daniel Rush was outside the front of the courthouse and was injured by Marx after exchanging fire. Rush is a 30-year veteran with the sheriff’s department.
Heavily armed, Marx opened fire with an AR-15 assault rifle, donning a gas mask and bulletproof vest. He was also armed with tear gas and smoke grenades.
“He came in there with the purpose of occupying the courthouse,” said Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper. “It was a full-frontal assault.”
