Midterm elections are now less than two weeks away, and several races across the country are still too close to call.

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz recently sat down with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Executive Director of the Sierra Club Michael Brune to discuss how green energy could play a role in some of those close races.

“I think the American public is a lot more interested in this issue than the pundits have thought,” said Whitehouse. “But … the Republicans are having to try to greenwash themselves in purple states in order to get credibility.”

“They can’t win on the issues,” said Brune. “They can’t win on the issues. They can only win by trying to hoodwink people and to deceive them from knowing what’s actually happening.”
