A man was shot and killed in downtown Austin, Texas after an attack on the Mexican Consulate early Friday morning, reported NBC News.
Larry Steve McQuilliams, 49, fired 100 rounds of ammunition at the Mexican Consulate and the Austin, Texas Federal Courthouse for 10 minutes before being taken down by police. McQuilliams was reportedly intent on setting fire to the consulate.
His identity was not immediately released after the incident, but McQuilliams was found to have a lengthy criminal history. However, authorities didn’t release the details of McQuilliams criminal record.
According to NBC News, the attack is thought to have been politically motivated, being that McQuilliams was staunchly anti-government and thought to vehemently oppose immigration.
