Rich Lowry, National Review editor, said on ABC’s This Week that “attempted forced kissing” isn’t sexual assault.
The panel was discussing the Rolling Stone piece on an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia, and Lowry made the claim that RS had an agenda when publishing the story.
“Rolling Stone didn’t do basic fact-checking here, I believe, because they had an agenda to portray UVA as this bastion of white male privilege, where basically rapists rule the social life,” said Lowry, “and the justice will never be undone.”
When Van Jones quoted the statistic that one in five women will be sexually assaulted in college, Lowry interrupted that the figure was “bogus,” and that “no, they aren’t.”
Calling the statistic an “advocacy number,” Lowry said that “attempted forced kissing” isn’t a “crime that the police are going to be involved in and prosecute.”
