The passage of the Homeland Security bill has been stalled in Congress for days, with politicians on both sides of the aisle blocking it. Currently, there are five anti-immigration amendments attached to the bill, and Republicans refuse to pass it unless those amendments are left alone. Among the five is a provision that would defund the Deferred Action on for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA).
Basically, the Republicans won’t pass the spending bill unless they get to deport children.
Democrats, of course, refuse to pass the bill as it stands because of the GOP’s ridiculous anti-immigration amendments.
