Former California governor and action-movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) spoke at the Munich Security Conference yesterday and said that climate change is “the issue of our time,” the Associated Press reported.
Schwarzenegger spoke to a small group at the conference, introducing a new policy paper, “The Future of Energy.” He told those in attendance that when he was governor, he saw that adopting green energy created new jobs and led to energy independence.
While he commended governments on their recent pledges to reduce carbon emissions, Schwarzenegger said that there is no need to wait for these international summits to take action on stopping global warming.
“We should be fighting climate change right now,” said Schwarzenegger, pointing out that climate change shouldn’t be a political issue. “We all breathe the same air.”
