Yesterday the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) awarded racist and homophobic Duck Dynasty “star” Phil Robertson with its Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award. (There are so many things wrong with that sentence, it would be funny if it weren’t so sad.)
During his acceptance speech, Robertson said 110 million people had sexually transmitted diseases, calling it “revenge of the hippies.”
“I don’t want you to die early!” Robertson said. “If you’re disease free, and she’s disease free, you’re married, you keep your sex right there, you won’t get sick from a sexually transmitted disease! Come on!”
“There is a penalty to be paid from what the beatniks – and it morphed into the hippies,” Robertson babbled. “You say, what do you call the 110 million with the sexually transmitted illness — it’s revenge of the hippies! Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll have come back to haunt us in a bad way.”
