Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly had his first non-Fox interview since the scandal over his falsified reporting erupted and, once again, maintained that his reporting had been “accurate” and tried to use his rating to prove that accuracy, Media Matters reported.
“So we had a controversy there,” O’Reilly said on last night’s episode of The Late Show with David Letterman, “and we put forth what my side was, they put forth what their side was, folks decided, and it worked out okay for me, and I got even more viewers.”
O’Reilly then tried to use his ratings to prove that his reporting should be trusted.
“I’ve been on the air 19 seasons, 15 years at number one,” O’Reilly said. “Our ratings are as high now as they’ve ever been, so I think they do trust me and I’m glad they do.”
