Actor and comedian Russell Brand discussed the Germanwings plane crash on the latest episode of his show, The Trews. Specifically, Brand was reacting to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto’s coverage of the pilot who caused the crash’s motives.
“In a way, this is the perfect Fox News story,” said Brand, “because there’s no way of knowing for certain what were the motivations. And, in that gap of ignorance, there’s room for tremendous fear and great propaganda.”
Brand then goes on to discuss the high rates of suicide in Britain and how reports show that millions of Americans deal with untreated mental illnesses.
“The reason Fox News can’t be honest about what causes mental illness,” he said, “is because Fox News is what causes mental illness.”
