On Sunday’s episode of This Week, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley said what we’ve all been thinking about the 2016 presidential election: “The presidency of the United States is not some crown to be passed between two families.”
O’Malley is currently considering challenging presumptive-nominee Hillary Clinton in the primaries and has been focusing on issues like income inequality recently. He said that he won’t make his decision on running until later this spring, but the US needs a “new perspective” and “new leadership.”
Alluding to 2008, when many also assumed Clinton would be the party’s nominee, O’Malley said, “History is full of times when the inevitable frontrunner is inevitable right up until he or she is no longer inevitable.”
