Former Republican House Speaker Tom DeLay (TX) appeared on the Newsmax network to discuss the recent changes that Arkansas and Indiana lawmakers made to their respective state’s religious freedom laws. DeLay criticized the governors of each state for giving in to the “gay agenda.”
This is the result of the gay agenda. We’re now seeing what the gay agenda is all about. Our religious liberty, as you know, . . . is the bedrock of our country; as it’s described in the Declaration of Independence, that we get our rights from our creator, somebody bigger than us. And from that, we get truth, with the values by which we live. . . . What they’re [gay people] trying to do is undermine religious liberty so that they can become an accepted sexual orientation.
