Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke spoke at an annual National Rifle Association convention in Nashville this past weekend. During his address on Friday, Clarke said the seal of the United States of America should contain a semi-automatic rifle, reported Addicting Info.
Now let me say this about being one of those “bitter clingers.” There is nothing else I would rather hold in my hand when fighting government tyranny than a Bible in my left hand that I use to swear to uphold the Constitution, and in my right by hand a Winchester rifle, a symbol of freedom in the United States of America.
That’s some real flowery, imaginative rhetoric. He forgot to include the part where he walks away from an explosion in slow motion with heavy rock guitars playing in the background. However, his comments merely echo the belief held by many gun nuts that think they are God’s gunslingers doing the lord’s work against Obama.
Clarke continues with his description of what the U.S. seal should look like.
I propose that we change the Great Seal of the United States, you know, the one with the American bald eagle holding an olive branch in one claw and arrows in the other. We should take those arrows out of the eagle’s claw and replace them with a semi-automatic rifle, preferably one that shoots M-855 ammunition.
The ammosexuals in attendance during Clarke’s speech ate it up. They cheered and applauded without realizing the absurdity of such a ridiculous idea.
Clarke feeds into that far-right fringe that still believes Obama is going to go door-to-door and take everyone’s guns. That is logistically and realistically impossible. The president has more important things to worry about right now. This is all just fringe-right paranoia.
