Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to a group of homeschool activists last week to discuss gay rights. Cruz doesn’t think there should be any gay rights. In fact, he likens gay rights to an Islamic jihad.
Rousing the conservative fear monster, Cruz told those in attendance that they should be afraid of “the jihad that is being waged right now in Indiana and Arkansas, going after people of faith who respect the biblical teaching that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.”
Cruz’s comment is a severe misstep because he creates fear of gay rights while undermining the seriousness and tragedy of jihad. Watch.
