Ed Rollins, former campaign manager for Ronald Reagan, told Fox News that the current GOP field for president is the “strongest … since 1980,” Crooks and Liars reported.

“At the end of the day, if you look at our field of candidates, we have many governors who have been elected to two terms, and not necessarily in Republican states. We have several serious young senators with a future. This is probably the strongest field since 1980 when Reagan won, and my sense [is] that whoever comes out of this field will be very significant.”
