According to a study by a former top official in the George H.W. Bush administration, Fox News so badly mangles the national narrative that it creates uninformed voters, reported The Huffington Post.
The study was compiled by Bruce Bartlett, who was also Ronald Reagan’s domestic policy adviser.
“Republican voters get so much of their news from Fox, which cheerleads whatever their candidates are doing or saying, that they suffer from wishful thinking and fail to see that they may not be doing as well as they imagine, or that their ideas are not connecting outside the narrow party base,” said Bartlett.
Bartlett also confirmed long-held stereotypes of Fox viewers being misguided about many major national issues and unfairly biased against Muslims. What’s most disconcerting is that most Fox viewers won’t watch any news network other than Fox. They willingly refuse to consume any other points of view.
Even Newt Gingrich commented that Fox News is very partial during the 2012 presidential campaign.
“I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through,” said Gingrich. “In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”
This is further proof that Fox News simply skews the national narrative and damages its viewers chances of ever being informed.
