Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is running his 2016 presidential campaign his way: no giant donations from Wall Street, just real support from real people.
One of those real people, Kinsey, a park ranger from northern Florida, was the 100,000th person to donate money to Sanders’ campaign. To thank him for his contribution, the senator called him personally.
After introducing himself and thanking Kinsey, Sanders said,
“What we’re trying to do in this campaign is to show that we can win an election without being dependent on billionaires and people who make million dollar contributions to super PACs. We are raising a good amount of money from people like you — folks who don’t have a lot of money, and your $10 contribution to me is extremely important and we’re going to use it well.”
