Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) released a promo video explaining why he should be the next President of the United States of America. Of all the bogus arguments Graham presented, the most ludicrous was the senator noting how working in his parents’ pool hall taught him how to spot liars, reported Talking Points Memo.
More specifically, Iranians, who Graham said were liars.
“Everything I know about the Iranians I learned in the pool room,” said Graham. “I ran the pool room when I was a kid and I met a lot of liars, and I know the Iranians are liars.”
Graham’s point is because he can spot a pool hustler that just so happened to (maybe) be Iranian, that all Iranians are sharky hustlers. Chances are that Graham has probably seen white, black, and Hispanic hustlers, but they are not all liars. Is Graham racist against Iranians? He may be; that’s an unfair assessment of Iranians.
“The Iranians cheat and they lie,” he continued. “They are a radical regime. They want a master religion for the world; the Nazis wanted a master race.”
ISIS wants to create an all-Islamic world, and Graham said that Iran wants to take over the world and create a master religion. He either doesn’t realize that the Iranian government is at odds with ISIS, or he’s a liar himself, trying to throw coal into the GOP fear machine furnace.
Talking Points Memo reported that the National Iranian-American Council criticized Graham for his “racist, anti-Iranian comments.” Graham also recently said that “everything that starts with ‘al’ in the Middle East is bad news.” If Graham plans to be president, he needs to learn how to be more diplomatic.
There are about a dozen Republicans in the 2016 presidential race right now. However, many of them aren’t contenders, and Graham is one of them. He’s an Iraq War hawk who wants blood and violence. He has no chance of making it to the White House.
