A bunch of hard-Right conspiracy theorists in Texas believe that President Obama is going to launch a military takeover, reported Talking Points Memo. Hundreds of volunteers are preparing for the “attack” that they believe will happen on Wednesday.
Eric Johnston, 51, is part of a group called “Counter Jade Helm,” named for the “secret” military operation to instill martial law dubbed “Jade Helm 15.” Johnson told the Houston Chronicle that he’s been coordinating with several volunteers to monitor incoming troops in Texas.
“Jade Helm 15” is a type of training exercise conducted by the United States military known as “Realistic Military Training,” where troops are trained in real world scenarios complete with hostile and friendly territories. Texas was labeled as a hostile territory and all the paranoid sovereigntists took it as a serious military takeover. “Counter Jade Helm” organizer, 44-year-old Pete Lanteri of Arizona, said 200 volunteers have joined the movement.
“We’re going to be watching what they do in the public,” said Lanteri. “Obviously on a military base they can do whatever they want. But if they’re going to train on public land we have a right as American citizens to watch what they’re doing.” Extreme right-wing paranoia has become rampant along the southwest. Despite being crazy themselves, Lanteri and Johnston said they’re weeding out the “nut jobs.”
Jade Helm fanatics, doomsday preppers, and right-wing sovereigntists are all different races of the same species. “Jade Helm 15” is going to come and go without any takeover. Considering how crazy these volunteers are, they’ll probably believe they protected America from President Obama.
