It’s going to be an exciting day in New Hampshire this Saturday as a handful of Republicans are set to get together and argue about the best way to hate Muslims.
The “National Security Action Summit” will be hosted by the Center for Security Policy (CSP). The CSP is ran by none other than the virulently anti-Muslim Frank Gaffney.
Those reportedly attending are: Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, and George Pataki. They’re expected to discuss subjects such as the global takeover of Jihad and the weakening of the United States Military.
Gaffney has a long history of anti-Muslim fear mongering. The Southern Poverty Law Center lists Gaffney as an anti-Muslim extremist.
Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, and Donald Trump have “yet to confirm” their attendance at this event.
“It’s really troubling that, despite his ridiculous and bigoted conspiracy theories, Gaffney has remained a player in GOP politics, thanks in large part to his considerable fundraising power,” Matt Duss, president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace, told The Intercept.
While it is troubling, it isn’t that surprising that Gaffney remains such a big player in the GOP. The party can’t even distance itself from Donald Trump without fear of alienating their racist constituency.
No matter, get ready for a fun-filled weekend of fear in New Hampshire.
