The tragedy of Sandra Bland’s death has not gone unnoticed by politicians. It’s correct for them to comment that the circumstances of her arrest and her death are worth investigation. It’s correct for politicians to note that America does, and historically has had, a problem with the way our justice system deals with minorities, particularly African-Americans.
That’s what makes these latest rounds of attacks from Fox News and the right wing against Hillary Clinton so classless. They completely ignore the real suffering people experience every day in this country and instead want to seize political points against someone they see as their opponent.
