Two conservative Christian billionaires have contributed the largest amount ever received by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), reported AllGov.com. This money is intended to fund Tea Party revisionist history and anti-gay policies.

Texas fracking tycoons Farris and Dan Wilks contributed $15 million to the Keep the Promise super-PAC, which supports Ted Cruz for president. The money amounts to nearly half of the total $38 million raised by that PAC. Like the Koch brothers, the Wilks have remained relatively low key. Their politics, however, are anything but low key. “Our country was founded on the idea that our rights come from the Creator, not the government,” said Farris Wilks, who’s also a pastor. “I’m afraid we’re losing that.”

“Unless we elect a principled conservative leader ready to stand up for our values, we’ll look back on what once was the land of opportunity and pass on a less prosperous nation to our children and grandchildren,” he continued. “That’s why we need Ted Cruz.”

The Wilks made their fortune during the Texas fracking boom in the early-2000s. Their company, Frac Tech, manufactured fracking equipment, and they sold it in 2011 for $3.5 billion. Like their industrial counterparts, the Kochs, Farris and Dan Wilks are filthy rich and give lots of money to Republican causes. They’ve just been unknown, until now.
