Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt (R) said on Monday that gay people should be “drowned in the depths of the sea.” Klingenschmitt said this in response to the Boy Scouts of America’s decision to allow gay scout leaders.
Quoting from the Book of Matthew, he said “Whoever causes one of these to little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.”
He also said gay scout leaders will molest children.
This isn’t just some obscure pastor. Klingenschmitt is a Colorado state lawmaker. He won an election. There are people who support him. That is terrifying.
