Chris Christie refuses to move forward when it comes to marijuana legalization and promises to “enforce federal laws” if he becomes president.
“If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it,” said Christie during a town hall event in New Hampshire. “As of January 2017, I will enforce the federal laws.”
Christie has never been a supporter of recreational marijuana usage and, according to Bloomberg, has said that he opposes President Obama’s “selective enforcement” of laws.
“If you want to change the marijuana laws, go ahead and change the national marijuana laws,” Christie said at the town hall.
Fortunately, Christie is polling dismally. There’s no chance he’ll ever get to make good on his campaign promises.
