Republican presidential candidates Jeb Bush and Donald Trump both want to attack Planned Parenthood, each in their own crazy conservative way, reported The Hill. Bush said he’ll defund Planned Parenthood; Trump said he’d allow a government shutdown if it isn’t defunded.

During an interview at the Southern Baptist Forum, Bush said that the next president should defund Planned Parenthood, alluding to himself perhaps. “We should, and the next president should defund Planned Parenthood,” said Bush. “You could take dollar for dollar – although I’m not sure we need half a billion dollars for women’s health issues – but if you took dollar for dollar, there are many extraordinarily fine community health organizations that exist to provide quality care for women on a wide variety of health issues.”

Bush said that no government, on any level, should fund Planned Parenthood, but it’s okay to publicly fund other types of health clinics. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton fired back at Bush on Twitter, saying that he was “absolutely, unequivocally wrong” about Planned Parenthood.

Trump has an entirely different, more destructive approach to Planned Parenthood. He said on The Hugh Hewitt Show Monday night that he supports a government shutdown if Planned Parenthood wasn’t defunded. “Well I can tell you this: I would,” said Trump. “I was also in support if the Republicans stuck together you could have done it with ObamaCare also, but the Republicans decided not to stick together and they left a few people out there like Ted Cruz. You know, they left a lot of the people that really went in and wanted to do the job and you know what? If they had stuck together they would have won that battle.”

One wants to defund Planned Parenthood, and the other would allow another government shutdown to prove a point. Trump and Bush are the frontrunners for the GOP nod. Conservative voters would have to be either stupid or desperate to elect these two 1%.
