The 1% spreads fear about socialism in America. However, socialist principles already have a strong foothold in American programs and institutions: 40-hour work weeks, weekends off, Social Security, etc. But, some of the biggest socialistic payouts in America come in the form of corporate welfare. If social programs expanded to help the people, corporations, and the people who run them, are afraid that would take a chunk of their fat paychecks.
