Showing no remorse for former President Jimmy Carter’s cancer diagnosis, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) continued his attacks against the former president, reported The Hill. This is yet another despicable move made by the Texas senator.
“We can always have a discussion about public policy,” said Cruz at the Iowa State Fair on Friday. “The public policy of the late 1970s didn’t work.”
“And the point that I made here that was so important is that in response to the failures of public policy in the late 1970s, there was a grassroots movement of millions of men and women that rose up and became the Reagan revolution,” he added. “And that same thing is happening today.”
The Hill noted that Cruz has been relentless in his criticisms against Carter ever since joining the 2016 presidential race early this year. That criticism has remained steadfast in the wake of Carter’s brain cancer diagnosis.
“I think the parallels between this administration and the Carter administration are uncanny: same failed policies, same misery, stagnation and malaise, same feckless and naïve foreign policy,” he said. “In fact, the exact same countries — Russia and Iran — [are] openly laughing at and mocking the president of the United States.”
No one is safe from the shameless political attacks of the Republican Party. To think that any GOP candidate would show any bit of remorse and class is a pipedream.
