The gunman who was disarmed by two American military service members in Europe last week may be connected to radical Islamic groups, reported Talking Points Memo. The actions of radical Islam only create stories that conservatives use to destroy the religion’s good name.
The attacker, Ayoub El-Khazzani, 26, emerged from the bathroom on a train bound for Belgium without a shirt and had an assault rifle slung across his shoulder. Air Force serviceman Spencer Stone, inactive National Guard member Alek Skarlatos, and a civilian subdued El-Khazzani and prevented a potential attack.
“As he was cocking it to shoot it, Alek just yells, ‘Spencer, go!’ And Spencer runs down the aisle,” said Anthony Sadler, the third man who subdued the attacker. “Spencer makes first contact, he tackles the guy, Alek wrestles the gun away from him, and the gunman pulls out a boxcutter and slices Spencer a few times. And the three of us beat him until he was unconscious.”
European counterterrorism officials have yet to discover a motive for the potential attack, but have linked El-Khazzani to the “radical Islamist movement.” French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office in Paris will conduct a full investigation into El-Khazzani to determine his place in radical Islam and why he chose the train to carry out an attack.
This incident could have turned tragic in moments, but three exceptional young men prevented that tragedy. Despite the heroism, the likes of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh will use this story to create mass-hysteria among conservative viewers.
