Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks interviewed ex-Baltimore police officer Joe Crystal about the state of American law enforcement. During the interview, Crystal said many police agencies instill a gang mentality among the officers with a motto similar to “blood in, blood out,” which is a questionless commitment regardless of the consequences.
Crystal left the Baltimore Police Department after he turned in two fellow officers who beat a man. He was considered a “snitch” and a “rat,” something that the gang mentality discourages.
