We must remember that it’s not only police officers shooting innocent people, but innocent police officers being shot. Late last night, Deputy Darren Goforth was pumping gas at a Chevron station in a Houston suburb. A dark-complexioned male, between 20 and 25 years old, and 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, came up behind him and shot him several times execution-style. The suspect was driving a red or maroon pickup-style truck with an extended cab.
“He was pumping gas into his vehicle, and the male suspect came up behind him and shot the deputy multiple times,” Deputy Thomas Gilliland told the Houston Chronicle. “The deputy fell to ground. The suspect came over and shot the deputy again multiple times as he lay on the ground.”
This country must stand together and institute gun control. This is absolutely out-of-control. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Goforth’s family, colleagues and friends. There is nothing that can ever justify this type of senseless murder.
