Environmental groups are no longer sitting on the sidelines, and a flurry of new attack ads are slated to hit the airwaves attacking Republican Senators Richard Burr, Rob Portman, Pat Toomey, and Ron Johnson for their opposition to the EPA’s new carbon emissions rules.

The League of Conservation Voters, the NRDC, the Sierra Club, and the Environmental Defense Fund are putting out the ads in an attempt to let the public know where these candidates stand on environmental issues.  This is a great step being taken by these environmental groups, because it shows that they can be just as aggressive as the opposition, and that’s something that has mostly been missing from environmentalists.  My only hope is that these attack ads continue to fly throughout this election cycle, and that we see even more science-denying politicians get put in these crosshairs.
