The non-profit organization Planting Peace erected a billboard in Kim Davis’ hometown of Morehead, Kentucky, that sends the very clear message that Evangelical Christians selectively follow the Bible.
The billboard displays the message: “The fact that you can’t sell your daughter for three goats and a cow means we’ve already Redefined Marriage.” The billboard is referencing Exodus 21:7, which provides: “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do.”
The Bible has so many verses that in no way could be applied in today’s society, and even Evangelical Christians could not contend otherwise. Yet, they want to parade the Bible verses they wish to enforce as some edict from God that would result in worldwide damnation if not followed.
