Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says a lot of nonsense about a lot of different things. During a visit to California, Carson denounced climate science, saying:
I know there are a lot of people who say “overwhelming science,” but then when you ask them to show the overwhelming science, they never can show it . . . There is no overwhelming science that the things that are going on are man-caused and not naturally caused. Gimme a break.
Following this statement of Carson’s, California Gov. Jerry Brown sent Carson a letter claiming the contrary. Not only did Brown write Carson, Brown included a thumb drive containing the “Synthesis Report” from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The report contains assessments of 30,000 scientific analyses that conclude not only is climate change happening but humans are the cause.
