Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum stands behind Kentucky court clerk Kim Davis, and he stated that every American should ignore and fight against any Supreme Court decision that one disagrees with.

“Kim Davis has every right to say that this should be a religious accommodation and I believe the state of Kentucky, as well as the federal government, should be passing things like the First Amendment Defense Act,” said Santorum.

When asked by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota whether Davis was discriminating same-sex couples by not issuing them marriage licenses, Santorum responded with his usual, faulty GOP logic.

“Number one, because the Supreme Court says something, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the law of the land,” Santorum said. “My belief is when the Supreme Court acts beyond their constitutional authority then we have every obligation to fight that.”

“The court acted beyond its authority,” he added. “When the court exceeds its authority, the Congress, and the president should push back.”

It’s funny how the GOP is willing to support the Supreme Court as long as it’s making decisions they like.
