Minnesota state Rep. Tim Kelly (R) and Rep. Tara Mack (R) are lawmakers who sell themselves as “family values” conservatives. They were caught two weeks ago by a Dakota County officer making out in a car. Mack’s pants were “unzipped and pulled down”, according to the citation report. Kelly and Mack are both married to other people. In fact, Mack is married to a minister and has two children.
Rather than confess their mistake and seek the Church’s, God’s, and their Constituent’s forgiveness (as the GOP way), they chose to slander and smear the police officer claiming he was making it all up to harm them. The two stated they were simply meeting in Kelly’s vehicle to swap documents relating to a health insurance company.
“Last week, I received a citation for a nuisance. Subsequently, I have been told the officer wrote in his notes — information that I’ve requested, but has not yet been made public to me — statements that are completely false and inappropriate (and apparently were obtained illegally). I will be filing a complaint with the sheriff’s office regarding the officer’s egregious and false statements,” Mack said in a statement two weeks ago.
Apparently, Kelly and Mack came to the realization that they best admit their affair, and not file fraudulent statements as part of a police investigation. However, they now can both seek Christian and Republican repentance, and possibly even get a reality TV show.
