During the CNN debates for the loser bracket, Bobby Jindal stated that he was glad to see the police and the school took security measures to detain Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old Muslim boy, who was taken out of school in handcuffs after bringing a homemade digital clock to show his science teacher. It was something Ahmed was very proud of accomplishing, and he was applauded today by President Obama.
Jindal said the boy was not discriminated against for being Muslim or because of the color of his skin, because Americans “don’t discriminate against anybody based on the color of their skin.” Instead, he said: “The biggest discrimination is going on against Christian business owners and individuals who believe in traditional forms of marriage.” He specifically cited the case of Kim Davis, the county clerk from Kentucky who was jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses.
It is hard to understand how the GOP leadership has become as openly depraved and out of touch as they are today. What it is even harder to believe is there is a single person not in a mental institution who would support them.
