A near-majority of Florida voters in a recent survey said that Republican presidential candidates Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, who’s a former Florida governor and current Florida senator, respectively, should drop out of the race.
A poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that 47 percent of Florida voters think Bush should leave the race, and 48 percent think Rubio should also drop out of the race. Florida is a key battleground, key in deciding who wins the presidential election. For the past five general elections, the candidate who has won Florida ultimately won the White House.
The candidates’ support increased, obviously, when only Florida Republican voters were polled. Fifty-two percent supported Bush while 62 percent supported Rubio.
