In a rally yesterday, Donald Trump asked for questions from the approximate 3,000 people attending. The first person Trump called on said:
We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American. . . . We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question. When can we get rid of it?
Rather than chastise the person for raising anti-Muslim bigotry, and for questioning Obama’s devotion to America, Trump basically agreed, stating:
We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things. And you know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things.
Even more stunning, after having time to reflect, Trump issued the following follow-up statement:
The media wants to make this issue about Obama. The bigger issue is that Obama is waging a war against Christians in this country. Christians need support in this country. Their religious liberty is at stake.
It is absolutely terrifying that Trump is the leading GOP candidate with his outspoken racism and bigotry against Hispanics, Muslims, Women, and anyone not him. How ignorant and depraved is the GOP becoming? They literally are using this Presidential election to incite massive hatred and animosity against the majority of American citizens. It’s like they are trying to create massive instability and civil war in the country in order blame Obama and Democrats.
