Religious right-winger Bryan Fischer lashed out at the news of President Barack Obama nominating a gay man as Secretary of the Army. Fischer went on social media and said “The army of the United States has become the army of Sodom and Gomorrah. May God help us.”

This tweet echoes the rhetoric Fischer made in June after the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right. He compared gay marriage to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, among other historical tragedies.
