Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee spoke out against President Barack Obama over the commander-in-chief’s guest list for Pope Francis’ state visit.

Obama invited gay rights and pro-abortion activists to the White House event set to happen on Wednesday during the pope’s state visit. Huckabee said Obama is the “most anti-Christian” president in history.

“President Obama’s classless decision to transform Pope Francis’ visit to the White House into a politicized cattle call for gay and pro-abortion activists is an insult to millions of Catholics,” said Huckabee. “Why is it that Obama goes to extremes to accommodate Muslim terrorists but shows nothing but disdain for Christians? This is a new low for an administration that will go down as the most anti-Christian in American history.”

Conservative members of the Vatican, who staunchly oppose the pontiff’s progressive ideas, also question the White House guest list for the state visit. They don’t want Pope Francis posing in photos with members of the LGBT and pro-choice community, as they believe it could be taken as an endorsement.

The state visit is shaping up to be an inclusive meeting of people that may have opposing beliefs. President Obama is working to unite different people with different beliefs. Huckabee and conservative Vatican officials, however, support divisiveness.
