Ted Cruz likes to hold himself up on a moral high ground, pretending to be above the fray of real politics. What Cruz does in reality is obstinately refuses to work with other politicians, and refuses to compromise in order to make meaningful progress for constituents.
Stephen Colbert pressed Ted Cruz on his unwillingness to compromise during an interview. Cruz was unable to show himself as a sympathetic character. At one point, Colbert had to ask his crowd not to boo Cruz.
“Now guys, guys, however you feel, he’s my guest, so please don’t boo him,” Colbert told his audience.
