GOP candidate Ben Carson continues to spew his anti-Muslim hatred, now saying that he would entertain the idea of merely being a member of a faith. This may be probable cause for a search into his views.
“I personally don’t feel that way, but I would certainly be willing to listen to somebody who had evidence to the contrary,” Carson said on ABC’s This Week. “I think that’s one of the problems, we get to our little corners and we don’t want to listen to anybody anymore.”
This comment followed after Carson fanned the flames of other anti-Muslim sentiments when he explained that he would not advocate making a Muslim president of the United States.
“I absolutely would not agree with that,” said Carson.
Carson would later try to redress his comments and explain that he wasn’t advocating that Muslims should be prevented from running from office, merely that he would not support one that did.
“Not advocating they run for president in no way precludes them from running,” said Carson.
Carson has expressed that he has a deep distrust for Muslims, especially regarding sharia law. Despite his comments trying to make him seem less extreme, when Carson is unopposed, he is perfectly clear that he does not view Muslims equally with members of other faiths.
