A fire that burned down a Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles, California was ruled as a possible arson, according to authorities.
Investigators say that one or more arsonists smashed a window, dumped gasoline inside the clinic, and lit the building ablaze. There is no hard evidence indicating that the arson was a political attack, but it’s the second arson against a Planned Parenthood clinic in the last couple of months.
“You’re putting the community at risk when you’re doing something like this,” said Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Detective Tim Lohman. “Whether it’s the stuff that’s in the news recently, we don’t know.”
Republican politicians and right-wing extremists have taken to the national stage with lies and hateful rhetoric against Planned Parenthood. Considering the violent nature of right-wing extremists, it’s likely that the arson in L.A. was an act of hate committed by a conservative activist.
