Ian Mercer, the father of the man who killed nine innocent people at a small Oregon college, sounds off against U.S. guns laws. He asks the poignant question: “how does anyone acquire 13 guns?” Mr. Mercer notes that no other country has the types of mass shootings we have in America, and it’s absurd how easy it is for anyone to acquire stockpiles of guns. He recognizes that his son must have had mental illness to do what he did, but he correctly notes that something has to be done to make it way more difficult for people to purchase guns in this country.
